Joe + Andrea II
On Sunday, I did my first e-shoot. If you have looked at any of my music photos, you may recognize Joe as the lead singer of Dova Grove (www.dovagrove.com). He and Andrea recently became engaged and asked me shoot a few photos for them. We had a great time traipsing around downtown Memphis.
Here is just a sneak peak of the photos that I took. If you want to see them individually, go to http://flickr.com/photos/redbanks626/sets/72157607300864660/
Joe and Andrea ~ Thanks for letting me be apart of your day and congratulations on your engagement!

I took these while home for Fathers Day. My dad is soo cute. One day he was out driving and saw these cool flowers growing in our pasture. He thought they would look really good lining our drive way so he grabbed a bunch and planted them.
Then one day he was walking to the mail box and noticed this smell.. **sniff**sniff** Wait..that smellls like...No...It can't be... but it was.
The closer he got to the plants the more and more he smelled it.
Yep. He had planted wild GARLIC all the way up and down his long drive way. LOL Atleast I can be assured that no vampires are going to wander down the road to my parents house anytime soon.
...but they are pretty... :)

Busy bee. Busy Bee....
Land on my finger. :) I used to stand around in the yard with my cousins chanting this all the time. My mom always said if you were really quite and really still they would hear you calling them and land on your finger and bring you good luck. Looking back I think my mom made it up to keep us children quite and entertained. It worked. :)
so tiny...
Another back yard find. I thought I was shooting a lady bug, but this isn't quite the kind that I am used to.
Rise and shine...
I have such lovely "flowers" growing in my yard this week right now. Even though I was out sick, I couldn't resist grabbing some shots before my husband mowed the grass.
PS... I love my 100MM Macro lens. I bet my neighbors who see me on my hands and knees in the weeds think I am crazy. I really have found the most interesting things while laying on my stomach in my backyard. :)

Macro!
This is my attempt at macro with water drops. Some of you were asking how I did this so I try my best to explain:
I used my kitchen sink. I set up a painting on the on the left side of the sink on the counter. I set my camera up on the right side so that I was shooting through the stream of water and looking directly at the painting. For this particular one, my huband held the sprayer up really high to that I could catch the individual drop.
oh..and I used my flash and shooting in burst mode.
Its easier than it sounds and completely addicting. :-)

Classic Cooley.
This is from the Drive By Truckers show at the New Daisy in Memphis, TN.
I started off in the middle of the stage shooting, but since there was no pit I kept getting squished. Eventually, I moved to Cooley side to breathe and got quite a few keepers.
This is SOOC the camera just resized for the web.

Cactus
This is the first shot that I liked with my new macro (100mm 2.8) Macros aren't as easy as they look. The smallest vibration and its completely out of focus. This one was the sharpest out of about 200 shots. LOL However, I really really like this lens and I am looking forward to some great captures once I can venture out doors.
